What is HEGD?
The Fund is an actively-managed exchange-traded fund ( ETF ) that pursues its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its net assets (plus any borrowings for investment purposes) directly and indirectly through one or more other investment companies, including ETFs, in equity securities of large capitalization U.S. companies. Large capitalization companies are those within the range of capitalizations of the S&P 500 Index. In seeking to achieve its investment objective, the Fund also uses exchange-traded long-term put options on the S&P 500 Index for hedging purposes and exchange-traded put and call options on the S&P 500 Index (or exchange-traded funds seeking to track the S&P 500 Index) to seek to generate additional returns. The Fund may buy and sell put and call options. The Fund seeks to provide risk-managed growth of capital by matching or exceeding the long-term performance of the US large-cap equity market by minimizing large declines typically experienced during bear markets.

What is ETF correlation?
Correlation is a measure of the strength of the relationship between two ETFs. It quantifies the degree to which prices of the two ETFs typically move together.
Here, correlation is measured over the past year with the Pearson correlation coefficient (Pearon’s r), which ranges from -1 to 1.
Using ETF correlations in portfolio and strategy construction
ETF correlations can help you create investing strategies and portfolios. Use them to:
- •Build a diversified portfolio from uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETFs with the aim of minimizing portfolio risk.
- •Compare correlated or related ETFs to find one with a lower expense ratio or higher trading volume.
- •Create an investing strategy that hedges an ETF with an uncorrelated or inversely correlated ETF.
