Start of a new chapter: Composer joins SoFi

We have big news to share: Composer has joined SoFi.
Over the past several years, Composer has grown to a community of more than 175,000 investors and one of the largest sophisticated trading communities in the country. Together, we've made quant trading accessible to a generation of everyday investors. Now we're taking everything we've built and going even bigger with SoFi.SoFi runs one of the most comprehensive financial platforms in the country, used by millions of people for banking, lending, and investing. Pairing that reach with Composer's automated trading infrastructure, Trade with AI, and a community-built library of 2000+ symphonies accelerates our shared vision: helping our members get their money right.
A letter from our CEO, Benjamin Rollert
"Over the last six years, we’ve worked tirelessly to build the best platform for designing, sharing, backtesting and executing automated trading strategies. Our customers have been a constant source of inspiration and feedback, pushing us to be better. And our work still isn’t done - there’s so much more we want to build, and it looks like we will finally have the resources to build the future of Composer." Read more.
As seen in Bloomberg, Barron's, and Reuters
Proud to see our mission covered by Bloomberg, Barron's, and Reuters. Here’s what this acquisition means for everyday investors.
What changes for your account today? Nothing.
We know the first question on your mind is what happens to your money and your symphonies. Nothing changes today:
Your symphonies will keep running on their existing trading frequencies.
Your assets stay custodied where they are and SIPC protection on your brokerage account is unchanged.
Your historical performance, backtests, and saved symphonies all stay intact and accessible.
Your Trading Pass subscription, our pricing, and fees remain the same.
If anything material changes in the future, we'll tell you directly and well in advance. If you have any questions, we’re always here for you at [email protected]
What's next
We have rebranded as “Composer by SoFi”. Soon, as Composer integrates further into SoFi, we'll start sharing what becomes possible for your trading. There’s a lot to look forward to, stay tuned!

Time-weighted returns, new metrics, chart comparisons, and event markers

Your portfolio stats just got a major upgrade! Your returns are now calculated using Time-Weighted Return (TWR), which strips out the effect of deposits and withdrawals so you can see how your investments are actually performing. It works at both the account and symphony level, and shows up as your Cumulative Return. If you want to dig into how it works, we wrote up all the details in this article. We also added four new metrics alongside TWR: Annualized Return (CAGR), Sharpe Ratio, Max Drawdown, and Standard Deviation. These are all available at both the portfolio and symphony levels.
New Chart Comparisons
You can now overlay SPY, QQQ, or any other ticker on your charts. Open a symphony, add a comparison, and see your live performance next to the benchmark of your choice. Each chart saves its own comparisons, so you can set SPY on one and a sector ETF on another. Your symphony's backtest shows up alongside your live data too, so you can see at a glance whether it's tracking its historical pattern or doing something different. Live performance is a solid line, the backtest is dotted and benchmarks are dashed.
New Event Markers
Money in, money out, symphony edits, and trade overrides now appear as markers on your charts. You can toggle them on or off in the Advanced Chart view. Trade overrides (Go to Cash, Skip Trading, Run Now) are grouped to make your manual interventions easy to spot. Automated trading markers are there too, but off by default to keep the view uncluttered.

ANY/ALL conditions in the symphony editor

One of the most-requested features is finally here: ANY/ALL conditions in the symphony editor.
ANY: If any of the conditions you set is true, the action executes.
ALL: If all conditions are true, the action executes.
Combine multiple conditions with ANY or ALL logic and nest them. Plus, you can use ANY/ALL within expressions themselves, like checking if the 10d RSI of ANY(TQQQ, VTV, or XLF) is above a threshold. Learn how to use ANY/ALL conditions in this quick tutorial.

Already have symphonies with nested If/Else logic? Look for the "clean up" icon in the editor. It lets you convert single If conditions into cleaner Any/All blocks in one click. And it preserves your out-of-sample (OOS) date, so your backtest stays intact.

Enders Capital: One Year of Live Fund Data

We sat down with Moody Nashawaty and Risley Mabile, founders of Enders Capital, for their one year performance review. Enders Capital is a quantitative hedge fund running automated trading algorithms built on Composer. From March 2025 to Feb 2026, the fund saw a 34.97% gross return vs. 19% for the S&P 500 over the same period. Here are three highlights from the session:
Uncorrelation is their mantra.
The portfolio is built on uncorrelated algorithms trading across different assets, signals, and market regimes. That's the "holy grail" of investing, a principle championed by Ray Dalio.
Systematic funds don’t intervene.
When Moody and Risley disagree on whether to override a model but there’s no data to resolve the disagreement, then they don’t override it.
AI is now part of their research stack.
Moody walked through how they use AI to research historical market regimes, run walk-forward tests, and build custom tooling directly with the Composer API.

Write Covered Calls and Cash-Secured Puts

Options traders can now write covered calls and cash-secured puts with the potential to earn premium directly on Composer. This release expands our options offering and brings selling calls and puts to the Composer community for the first time.
AI-Powered Wheel Strategy

The wheel strategy lets you earn premium at every stage. You start by selling cash-secured puts on stocks you'd be comfortable owning. If the put expires worthless, you keep the premium and can sell another put. If you get assigned the shares, you then sell covered calls against your position to collect more premium. When the shares eventually get called away, you've earned income from both the puts and calls and you can start the cycle again.
Omni Search is now on mobile
The powerful search bar you’ve been enjoying on web is now on iOS. Search stocks, ETFs, crypto, symphonies, and access Trade with AI all from one place. It's the fastest way to find what you're looking for on the go.

It’s the fastest way to find what you’re looking for, jump into research, or explore new opportunities with AI.
A New Discover Experience Added, Not Replaced

We’ve brought Trade with AI and the original Discover together into a consolidated, upgraded experience. The original Discover is now the Symphony Library, and the new Discover introduces a new interface with trending stocks and crypto data, weekly popular symphonies, and your AI trading copilot all-in-one.
You can explore symphonies, chat about ideas, and analyze them with AI while still keeping full access to the workflows you already know. This update gives you more ways to find your next trade without changing how you prefer to navigate Composer!
New Charts for Individual Assets (Now with Candlesticks and Volume)

Individual asset pages now include fully interactive candlestick charts with built-in volume, giving you clearer insight into price action and trend strength. These new charts make your analysis faster, cleaner, and more informative.
